I've finished the second apron that I'll be giving to my girls for Christmas this year. I know I'm starting extremely early, but I can't help it. Especially when it involves sewing. This second apron was as fun to throw together as the first one was. (See tutorial here) I really enjoyed the challenge of trying to make each apron a little different from the other while only using extra scraps of fabric that I had on hand.
I didn't have enough of the stripped fabric to make the entire apron, so I used a smaller piece that I had and turned the stripes horizontal. Then I added some Ric Rak to separate the two section.
I decided to cut out these flowers from another piece of fabric to add to the pockets and front portion of the apron. I simply used hot glue and stuck them in place. Then I added color coordinating buttons.
Each of the two aprons are the exact same size which will allow my girls to trade off and share. At least I hope that's what they will do with them.
